A personal blog with no analytics. Here is the honest accounting of what still leaves your browser.

What this site does not do
There is no analytics script, no tag manager, no advertising network, and no tracking pixel on any page. This site sets no cookies of its own and does not build a profile of you. Nothing you read here is logged against an identifier that follows you between visits.
Every page is a static file. There is no account system, no login, and no database of visitors.
Who does see a request
Three third parties receive a request when you load a page, and each of them can see your IP address, user agent, and the page you are on, because that is how an HTTP request works.
- Netlify hosts the site and serves every file. It keeps standard server logs.
- Google Fonts serves the three typefaces used here (Fraunces, Karla, Space
Mono), so your browser fetches stylesheets and font files from
fonts.googleapis.comandfonts.gstatic.com. - jsDelivr serves the KaTeX stylesheet, but only on the small number of posts that render mathematics.
Self-hosting the fonts would remove the Google request. It has not been done yet; if that matters to you, a content blocker handles it and the site stays readable in a fallback face.
The newsletter
The subscribe form posts your email address to Buttondown, which stores it and sends the emails. Nothing else is asked for and nothing else is stored. Buttondown records standard delivery information such as whether a message was opened.
Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes the address. To have it deleted outright rather than unsubscribed, email me [at] yasint [dot] dev and say so; there is no form to fill in and no verification hoop.
Links off the site
Links to sift
carry a from parameter naming the page you left, which is used to send you back.
It is not stored against you. Other outbound links are ordinary links, and once you follow one
you are subject to that site's own policy.
Your rights, and asking
The only personal data held directly is a newsletter email address, if you gave one. You can ask what is held, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by emailing me [at] yasint [dot] dev. Requests get handled by one person, usually within a few days.
This page is updated when the site changes. If a change means more data is collected than is described here, the change and its date will be described here too.
